The art of San Mai is the ancient Japanese method of layering different types of steels to create a strong and durable blade. In the center of this blade is hardened 1095 high carbon steel sandwhiched between nickel and a stainless spring steel.
The handle consisit of burl iron wood, spalted tamarind, brass and turqoise. The highly figured black walnut sheath has a turqoise pin that prevents the knife from falling loose.
This blade was designed and hand crafted by Dune Beard.
